Unique filmmaking challenge coming up in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) – Those with a knack for film and a competitive edge have the perfect opportunity to showcase their talents.

The NB48 Filmmaking Challenge is set to take place from March 22 to 24 centered around Gallery X on William Street in New Bedford.

NB48 is a 48-hour, free-entry challenge to create a film in downtown New Bedford.

Organizers say teams will be assigned a specific location in the downtown area on Friday, March 22 at 7 p.m.

They will then have to pitch their stories for approval on Saturday, March 23, at 10 a.m. before filming for eight hours in the assigned venue.

Teams will have until Sunday, March 24 at 7 p.m. to submit completed films.

The completed films will be screened at the New Bedford Film Festival from April 18 to 21 and have the chance to win various awards.

The deadline to register is March 10 – officials say it’s free to enter, but spots are limited.

Even if you don’t have a team, organizers say you can sign up to be part of the recruitment pool.

Those interested can find more information on the New Bedford Film Festival website.
