UPDATE: 21-year-old woman dies in two-car crash in Rehoboth

REHOBOTH, MASS-  Rehoboth Police were dispatched to a fatal two car crash Wednesday night at the intersection of Simmons St. and Hornbine Rd.  The accident happened around 5:51 pm. 

The accident involved a 2008 Acura colliding with a 1995 Toyota pickup truck.  The 21-year-old female operator of the Acura sustained serious injuries in the crash and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where she later succumbed to those injuries. She was identified as 21-year-old Kayla DeMello.

The two occupants of the pickup truck were also transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Speed and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
