UPDATE: 38 firefighters respond to apartment fire in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Firefighters responded to a fire at a multi-family home in Providence on Friday.

According to officials, the fire started on the third floor.

There was heavy fire when crews arrived that originated in the left the bedroom, and eventually spread to the attic.

38 firefighters responded to the call, eventually extinguishing the flames.

Officials said there was a lot of water damage.

At this time, the fire department is seeing if the house is habitable with the help of the American Red Cross.

There were no reported injuries.
