UPDATE: 8-year-old involved in head on collision with ambulance sustained life-threatening injuries

NORFOLK, Mass. (WLNE) — Among five people who were injured in a serious accident in February was an 8-year-old girl who sustained life-threatening injuries and is now on the road to recovery.
Rosie Wilson, a second grader of Norfolk, was the passenger of an SUV that collided head-on with an ambulance on Feb. 22, which resulted in her being airlifted to a Boston hospital for the treatment of life-threatening injuries.
The ambulance had three other people who were also transported to various hospitals that night. One was a 77-year-old man who was on the stretcher in the rear of the ambulance, and two ambulance personnel.
According to police, the girl’s mother, Jenna Wilson, 40, was determined to be operating the SUV southbound on Main Street in Foxborough when she crossed over into the northbound lane striking an ambulance head-on.
Wilson was arrested on Feb. 29 and charged with OUI-liquor or .08%, serious injury and negligent, child endangerment while OUI and other charges.
One family friend took the initiative to start a GoFundMe fundraiser to alleviate the financial burden of Rosie’s medical costs.
According to the fundraiser page, Rosie has already undergone three surgeries, but still has a long road to recovery. In addition to the medical expenses, her family has taken a leave from their work duties throughout the duration of the recovery process.
The fundraiser page shared that all donations will be going to Rosie’s medical expenses and care.
