UPDATE: Child falling out of third-story window deemed accidental

NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — The incident of an 11-month old child who fell from a third-story window in Newport Tuesday night was investigated and deemed an accident, according to Newport police.

Newport police and fire personnel responded to a Lucas avenue address for the report of someone bleeding at approximately 6:20 p.m.

Prior to their arrival, the child had been taken to Newport Hospital.

The child was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital by med flight.

There is no update on the condition of the child.
