UPDATE: East Greenwich funeral home badly damaged in weekend fire

EAST GREENWICH, R.I. (WLNE) — The Hill Skuffington Funeral Home provided an update today on their East Greenwich funeral home that was badly damaged by a fire over the weekend.

The funeral home on Main Street suffered extensive structural damage including a roof collapse.

The East Greenwich Fire Department said crews and police were able to “safely remove any human remains from the fire,” and secured them.

Owners said they’re working with local authorities to assess the damage and determine the next steps.

It will operate and partner with other funeral homes during the rebuilding process.
