UPDATE: Missing Coventry woman located and safe

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) — A 77-year-old Coventry woman last seen Wednesday morning has been located and is safe, according to an update from the Coventry Police Department.

Leslie Smith was last seen in the area of Carley Drive on Wednesday at approximately 7 a.m. and a Silver Alert was issued by the Rhode Island Broadcasters Association.

Smith was believed to be endangered “due to physical and/or mental health issues,” according to a prior statement from police.

The Silver Alert was closed just before 11 a.m. Thursday.
