UPDATE: Person of interest identified in attempted abduction of 10-year-old

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A suspect has been identified in the case where a 10-year-old girl escaped an attempted abduction last night.
Providence police responded to a call for an attempted child abduction on just before 5:30 p.m. on the intersection of North Main Street and Nashua Street on Wednesday evening.
Officials were able to identify the suspect 45-year-old Marc Pierre.
Pierre is described as Black male, approximately 6 ft. tall wearing a long green coat, gray hooded sweatshirt, green and black winter cap and a green backpack.
Pierre is known to frequently roam the area of Nashua and North Main Streets as well as Corliss Street.
