PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — The Potter League for Animals shared that they are assisting with the aftermath of a significant hoarding case on Senate Street.

The Potter League transported ten dogs from the Pawtucket Animal Shelter today.

Upon arrival, the dogs underwent medical shaving procedures due to severe matting as well as comprehensive veterinary examinations.

The Potter League said that many of the animals suffered from open sores and wounds due to prolonged neglect.

Potter League for Animals CEO, Brad Shear shared the following statement:

“Our priority is to provide these dogs with the immediate medical attention and care they so desperately need. Our dedicated animal care and veterinary teams are working tirelessly to diagnose and treat the dog’s health concerns, to prepare them for new loving homes.”

While the dogs undergo these necessary treatments, including behavioral assessments, it is unclear when they will be ready for adoption.
