UPDATE: Providence police continue early morning shooting investigation

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence police responded to calls of a reported shooting at 23 Donelson Street at approximately 3:22 a.m. Wednesday morning.

After being dispatched, police officers in the area reported hearing multiple gunshots in the area of Chad Brown.

Upon arrival to the scene, police observed the shooting victim stumbling toward the intersection of Donelson and Eaton Streets.

The victim told police that the subject(s) shot him and fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Providence Fire Department personnel transported the victim to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment of two gunshot wounds.

Police found several shell chasings on March Street and the incident is underway by Providence police detectives.
