UPDATE: Rhode Island State Police release name of fatal Lincoln car crash victim
LINCOLN, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island State Police have identified the victim of a fatal weekend crash on Route 146 in Lincoln.
Michael Connell, 42, of Providence was determined to have been traveling in the left lane of 146 south when he lost control of his vehicle at approximately 9:50 p.m. Saturday.
Connell’s vehicle then veered to the right and went off the road before striking a guardrail and a utility pole in the right shoulder.
The vehicle became engulfed in flames as a result of the impact, and Lincoln Fire and Rescue personnel extinguished the fire.
Connell was declared deceased at the scene.
