UPDATE: Silver Alert cancelled, elderly man with dementia located

Police say the elderly man who disappeared late Tuesday afternoon has been located.

81-year-old Harold MacKinney was believed to have left the Rumford section of East Providence at approximately 5 p.m. to return to Narragansett, but never arrived.

MacKinney’s family believed he may be enroute to Florida.

Officials say the missing man suffers from dementia and high blood pressure.

MacKinney was last seen wearing a white Polo shirt, khaki colored pants or shorts, and sneakers. Additionally, he was driving a 2007 black Cadillac DTS with a Florida license plate 9473.

Police described MacKinney as being 6-foot-1, weighing 170 pounds, with gray hair, and brown eyes.
