UPDATE: Three injured in Coventry stabbing incident

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) — Coventry police said that three people were injured in a stabbing incident Wednesday on Mapledale Street.

Officers arrived at the scene of a reported large disturbance and located some of the involved individuals.

Others fled prior to police arrival.

There was a physical altercation between two groups of males, and some sustained injuries from sharp-edged weapons.

Detectives arrived at the scene and one of the subjects was taken to a nearby hospital Wednesday night.

Another subject was located on Thursday morning after being taken to a hospital by rescue.

Both subjects suffered from non-life threatening stab wounds.

A third subject suffered minor injuries in the altercation and was given medical treatment on the scene.

This investigation into this incident is still ongoing.
