UPDATE: Victim in East Providence fatal accident identified

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Officials have identified the victim who was killed in a motor vehicle crash that closed down part of Veterans Memorial Highway Thursday.

38-year-old Shanika Coulter of Warwick died from injuries sustained in the accident, according to police.

The accident was between South Broadway and Lyon Avenue, and the crash also involved a Highway Department vehicle.

City employees that were involved in the crash have both been treated and released for minor injuries.

The crash is still being investigated by the Rhode Island Traffic Division.
