UPDATE: Warwick councilor pleads no contest to misdemeanor charge

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — A Warwick councilor pleaded no contest in court on Tuesday morning to a misdemeanor charge of filing a false document.

Donna Travis was arraigned in Third District Court stemming from a “Rhode Island State Police investigation into allegations involving the councilwoman’s transfer of property from the Oakland Beach Association.”

Travis was also given a one-year suspended sentence, and one year probation.
