UPDATE: Warwick murder-suicide victim, shooter identified

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Warwick police have identified the man and child killed in an apparent murder-suicide at 71 Frawley Street Thursday.

Police were called to the home at 8:24 a.m. and were informed at the scene by Estefania Dempsey that her husband, Seamus Dempsey, 33, shot their four-year-old son Liam with a handgun.

Officers were also told that her mother-in-law Ellen Dempsey, 79, was still in the home.

Officers were able to communicate with Ellen Dempsey and guide her out of the home without injury.

After gaining entry to the home, officers discovered the deceased body of a small child and adult male.

Each had suffered from a gunshot wound and were identified as Liam Dempsey and Seamus Dempsey.
