UPDATE: Woonsocket DUI suspect out on bail, crash victim identified

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Woonsocket man accused in a deadly DUI crash Saturday faced a judge Monday.

Samuel Adams, 45, of Woonsocket, was in court facing charges of DUI death resulting and driving to endanger death resulting.

The judge entered a no plea and if he were to be bailed out Adams was ordered not to drive.

He was released on $25,000 surety bail.

The crash occurred near Bernon and Maple Streets at approximately 10 p.m. Saturday.

Police arrived to find a 64-year-old female, a 25-year-old male passenger with injuries and a 71-year-old passenger with serious injuries who was unresponsive.

The 71-year-old, identified as Charles Bagley, was taken to Landmark Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The other two occupants of the vehicle were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle driven by Adams had a 34-year-old female in the passenger seat.

Adams was arraigned Sunday and is being held at the ACI.
