URI Basketball Lands First 2018 Commitment From Dana Tate

6’7” forward Dana Tate, a Massachusetts native and player at the MacDuffie School, becoming the first to commit to URI basketball from the Class of 2018 Saturday. Tate announced his decision at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. The Rams beating out Atlantic 10 rivals Richmond, UMass, and also Northeastern for Tate’s services. The commitment leaves Rhody with four open scholarships to fill for 2018, with Rhode Island set to graduate five players after this coming season (E.C. Matthews, Jared Terrell, Jarvis Garrett, Stanford Robinson, Andre Berry).
