URI frat brother arrested on marijuana charges

A URI fraternity member has been arrested for selling large amounts of marijuana from his frat house.
South Kingstown Police say they were alerted that a Sigma Pi fraternity brother was selling large amounts of marijuana from the frat house.
Investigation led to the arrest of 21-year-old Dan Coburn. Detectives seized about two pounds of marijuana, hash oil, and $604 in cash.
Coburn was charged with a felony count of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
URI released a statement saying that the arrest of Coburn has been referred to the University’s Office of Student Life for consideration as part of its student conduct process.
The University stated that, “Disciplinary action could result in dismissal.”
