URI staff member hit by car driven by student on campus

KINGSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — A University of Rhode Island staff member was hit by a car driven by a current student at the university, according to a representative.
It happened in the early evening on Wednesday near the intersection of Lower College Road and Campus Avenue.
The teacher is still at the hospital for observation and treatment, according to the representative.
The student has fully cooperated with the accident investigation and is receiving student support services from the university.
The spokesperson said the incident is under investigation, and there’s no additional details are available at this time.
