US Iran strikes could lead to spike in gas prices and inflation as oil prices surge
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Another impact from the strikes on Iran is that Americans could start paying more at the gas pump a oil prices surged late Sunday.
US oil futures jumped 3.6 percent, to about $76 a barrel.
Some experts predict oil prices could go even higher, perhaps as high as $80 a barrel.
Oil hasn’t traded that high since last January and has largely stayed between $60 and $75 a barrel.
Experts predict those prices will likely rise and that will reignite inflation across the country.
