Utility worker injured in fall from bucket truck

NORTON, Mass. (WLNE) – A National Grid worker was transported to the hospital after suffering from electric shocks and falling from a bucket truck Tuesday morning.
The victim was working on a utility pole in the area of West Hodges Street in Norton around 10:00 a.m. Tuesday when he fell approximately 35 feet to the ground, striking electrical wires as he fell.
A Norton Police Detail Officer on scene, as well as a fellow National Grid Employee, rendered first aid and CPR until rescue arrived. The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries
His status is unknown at this time.
The incident is under investigation.
