BOSTON, MASS (WLNE) –  Just as it opens up appointments for Massachusetts residents 65 and older, the vaccine finder crashed.

The site, vaxfinder.mass.gov, was supposed to go live at 8:00 AM. but the site says the application crashed.

About 1 million people are now eligible to register for an appointment, but only 70-thousand slots are available.

It is unclear if the crash was due to a failed launch, or too many people attempting to register at once.

ABC6 reached out to the state to find out more and is waiting to hear back.
