Veteran Providence police officer arrested

PROVIDENCE, RI (WLNE)- A veteran Providence police officer has been arrested following an investigation into an incident back in June.

Francisco Guerra, 41, has been charged with simple assault and domestic disorderly conduct for an incident that happened on June 8.

Guerra has been serving in the Providence Police Department for 12 years.

He has been placed on paid administrative leave, according to police.
