Victim, driver identified after suspected Warwick road rage incident

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island State Police identified the passenger killed in a suspected Warwick road rage rollover crash on Interstate 95 as Matthew Yoder.

The crash happened near Route 4 Saturday morning.

The driver of the truck, 31-year-old Ryan Van Winkle, of Warren, was charged with driving to endanger — resulting in death. He was arraigned at Rhode Island Hospital.

Both Van Winkle and Yoder were taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where Yoder died.

The other vehicle involved was believed to be just the driver, who stayed on scene and waited for emergency responders, police said.

Van Winkle will be re-arraigned in Third District Court Monday.
