Victim of alleged Woonsocket hit-and-run dies

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — The victim of an alleged Woonsocket hit-and-run died, according to Woonsocket police.
Chief Thomas Oates said that the 71-year-old man died shortly after 8 p.m. Friday night.
Jared Travers, 30, is facing charges after allegedly hitting the victim and continuing to drive.
The victim was originally rushed to the hospital in critical condition after the accident.
Travers is being held on $10,000 surety bail and was transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions after his arraignment.
Police said his court date next week is still being determined.
