Video released of Connecticut church collapsing in real-time
NEW LONDON, Conn. (WLNE) — An ABC viewer has shared a video of the historic Engaging Heaven Church collapsing in-real time on Thursday.

“Around 1:31 I heard this boom sound, and I looked to my left, there was the church, all in one piece but then it collapsed right down the middle,” an ABC6 viewer shared with one of our reporters.
Officials shared with ABC6 that nobody was inside during the time of the collapse, after undergoing an investigation with drones.
The city is planning for total demolition of the last-two standing steeples.
Until the area is deemed safe by emergency personnel, surrounding buildings have been evacuated.
It is not clear what caused the steeple to collapse. The incident remains under investigation.
