Video: Skydiver left dangling 15,000 feet over Australia after parachute snags plane tail

MELBOURNE, Australia (WLNE) — In an image from an over-the-top action movie, a skydiver’s parachute got snagged on an airplane’s tail 15,000 feet over Australia in September.

The incident occurred on a Cessna Caravan plane that took off from Tully Airport in Queensland on September 20, according to the Associated Press.

Australian investigators released the video of the heart-stopping moment that Adrian Ferguson’s parachute became entangled on a wing flap a split second after making his jump.

Ferguson was able to cut himself free with a knife and only sustained a minor leg injury during the botched jump.

After freeing himself he was able to land safely as his main parachute fully inflated.

The plane was also able to land safely and without incident despite the compromised tail end.
