PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Family and friends held a vigil and a march for the 18-year-old man who died Saturday night after he was hit by a van on his motorcycle and dragged a half mile.
Dozens of people gathered at the exact spot where Christopher Lucero was hit on Manton Avenue.
Those people walked the route that Lucero was dragged, which then led up to a large memorial.
Lucero’s best friend Mauro Orellana says he would not wish this horrific death on his worst enemy.
“Christopher, like everyone says, always had a smile on his face. But the reason he had a smile on his face was because he inspired everyone to be happy. He wanted everyone to be happy,” said Orellana.
The suspect, 69-year-old Mustafa Lynch, faced a judge Monday after turning himself in.
Lynch is being held on $40,000 surety bail.
