VL Lounge closed for 3 days following stabbing incident

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — VL Lounge in Providence was closed for at least three days following a stabbing incident early Saturday morning.
Authorities said three men reportedly suffered stab wounds during a physical altercation inside VL Restaurant and Lounge on Atwells Avenue of Federal Hill.
Police said a 37-year-old man walked into Hasbro Children’s Hospital around 1:53 a.m. on Saturday with stab injuries to his neck.
Shortly after, officials said, two additional men, ages 34 and 36, walked into Rhode Island Hospital with stab wounds.
Authorities said, upon questioning, the man at Hasbro reported the stabbing occurred at VL Lounge, where his friend got into a fight.
The man told police he attempted to break up the argument and was pushed to the ground.
Police said the victim reported he did not notice he was bleeding until he left the bar, adding that he could not identify any suspects.
The two men at Rhode Island Hospital also said they were inside VL Lounge when an argument took place, per officials.
Likewise, they told police they only noticed they were bleeding when they walked outside.
Authorities said neither man could describe possible suspects or what the altercation was about.
Officers responding to the the lounge said the owner reported there was a physical altercation inside and claimed staff members were able to disperse the parties without incident.
Officials were able to confirm the fight based on video footage from inside the club and spoke to a manager, who told police he did not see a knife or anyone with stab wounds.
Only the 37-year-old man at Hasbro chose to press charges, according to authorities.
The Federal Hill Commerce Association confirmed the Providence Board of Licenses made the decision to close the lounge for at least 72 hours.
This is an ongoing investigation — ABC 6 will provide updates when they are released.
