Volunteers in East Providence to host dinner for those alone on Christmas

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – A group of volunteers in East Providence want to make the season a little brighter for residents.

A small number of volunteers started the East Providence Community Dinner five years ago so no one had to be alone on Christmas Day. The dinner is happening tomorrow from 12:30 to 5 p.m. at the Brightridge Club.

Volunteers will serve a free dinner of turkey, sides and dessert.

If you do not have transportation, volunteers will be organizing pickups at all of the public housing locations in East Providence. To arrange for a pickup, you can call (401) 999-0029 or (401) 442-2423.
