Waitress receives $2000 tip at Swansea Restaurant

SWANSEA, M.A. (WLNE) — A waitress at Harvest Market in Swansea had her week made when an anonymous customer left her a $2,000 tip on just a 12 dollar bill.
“It was quite surprising,” she told ABC 6.
The waitress, who wanted to remain anonymous since the customer was anonymous, was in disbelief.
“The gentleman handed the hostess the receipt slip and told her to make sure it gets to me, so she came and handed it to me,” she explained to ABC6. “Which, I thought was a little strange, so I looked at it and was just in shock.”
The server questioned whether the customer was someone famous, as stars like Donnie Wahlberg and Ernie Boch Jr. recently made headlines for their ‘2020 Tip Challenge,’ where they tip $2020 or more on bills.
“As soon it hit, I tried to run outside and thank him but he was gone,” the server explained.
Turns out, the customer was just a regular guy, and a regular at the restaurant, who was pleased with his service and was feeling generous.
“She’s a very hard worker,” said manager Megan Sweeney of her employee.
“Well deserved, I’m glad she got it.”
