Wanted parolee arrested by Dartmouth police

DARTMOUTH, Mass (WLNE) — Dartmouth police arrested a man wanted by the Massachusetts Parole Board Wednesday.

Joshua Bishop, 29, of New Bedford was observed by Dartmouth police detective Matthew Correia driving a 2021 Jeep Compass on State Road.

Detective Correia attempted to stop the Jeep, at which time Bishop accelerated and fled.

Bishop was eventually stopped at the Stop and Shop parking lot at Faunce Corner Road and was place under arrest.

Bishop had an outstanding warrant for larceny, and was also charged with speeding, reckless operation and failure to stop for police.

After being booked, Bishop was transferred to members of the Massachusetts Parole Board.
