Wareham man arrested for stealing furniture

A Wareham man was arrested at 6 p.m. Tuesday evening for stealing furniture from the Shaw’s at the Wareham Plaza.

40-year-old Robert Perry III stole an outdoor patio set valued at over $500 and drove away in a red pickup truck, which was last seen traveling east on Marion Road (Rte. 6).

An officer spotted the vehicle and pulled the truck over on High St about half-mile from Shaw’s.

The stolen outdoor patio set was recovered from the bed of the pickup truck and returned to Shaw’s.

Officials say that, aside from being charged with Larceny Over more than $250 regarding the theft of the patio set, Perry was also charged with Operating After License Revocation and Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle.

Perry was scheduled for arraignment on the criminal charges at Wareham District Court on Wednesday.
