Wareham police arrest violent fugitive

WAREHAM, Mass. (WLNE) – Police in Wareham have captured a fugitive described as “desperate and dangerous” after he attacked a police officer Thursday night.

24-year-old Anthony Vieira is expected in court Friday after he was taken into custody Friday morning after a violent struggle with Wareham Police officers.

Wareham police did not give many details on the attack but said Vieira was also wanted in connection with for several crimes including two jewelry store break-ins in 2018.
