Wareham police searching for suspect in robbery at Subway

EAST WAREHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — The Wareham Police Department is asking the public for assistance in the search for a suspect who allegedly robbed a Subway in East Wareham on Friday.

Sgt. Bryan Whalen said that around 11 a.m. an individual entered the Subway on Cranberry Highway, wearing a mask and holding a firearm.

They ordered the employees to open the cash register, and then took cash and fled.

Surveillance footage showed what appeared to be the suspect entering a Chevrolet Avalanche.

Whalen said that officers with the department as well as Plymouth County Sheriff K-9 units searched the area and could not find the suspect, but did find “what appeared to be a toy revolver wrapped in electrical tape” nearby.
