Wareham woman charged with stealing items from parking lot cars

WAREHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — A woman is awaiting her day in court after Wareham police say she stole items out of unlocked cars in a Stop and Shop parking lot.

Police say 34-year-old Cassandra Lewan-Dowski discarded a loaded gun during her interaction with officers outside of the store on Cranberry Highway Sunday.

She was charged with various gun charges, breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, and larceny.

Lewan-Dowski is being held on bail and is due in court this week.
