Warm and humid end to the week, but great weather for dad

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Things will be heating up a bit over the next few days here across Southern New England.

Temperatures will reach the upper 70s on Wednesday, with brighter skies than Tuesday.

That will allow for a little more afternoon convection and a slight chance of a pop-up shower.

Humidity will become more evident on Thursday, with temperatures also rising up into the 80s.

A southwest breeze will be pleasant and help to cool things off a bit.

Friday will see the peak of humidity as a cold front approaches. Showers and thunderstorms will move through during the late afternoon and evening, clearing out the humidity for the weekend.

Dads all across the area are lucky this year, what a weekend! Ample sunshine and temperatures around 80 on both days.

The heat and humidity will return in a big way next week, however. We could see our first 90° days of the year by midweek.
