Warmer temperatures continue, but rain returns Thursday

Clouds are moving back in tonight and rain is on the way for Thursday. First, a warm front moves through between 3 and 6am.Some sleet or even wet snow may briefly mix in for northern spots.

But it quickly will become all rain and temperatures will be well above freezing, so no worry of any slippery roads. After a bit of a morning break, an afternoon cold front arrives.

The rain will generally be light, but there could be an embedded heavier shower, especially with the cold front. Temps will return to near 50° by the afternoon.

As skies clear Thursday night, things turn a little bit cooler for Friday, but not by much. Temperatures should average out around 45°, seasonable for this time of year.

We will ring in March with another warm day Saturday, with highs back in the low 50s. There will be scattered rain showers as a clipper passes by, but I also think plenty of dry time as well.

The clipper does bring some cold air behind it, and temperatures plummet into the 20s Saturday night. Sunday and Monday will only top out a few degrees above freezing, and it will be breezy too!

Fortunately, this only appears to be a short-lived cold snap, as mild air returns for the remainder of the week.
