Warming up with periods of rain through weeks end, colder air returns next week

A precautionary Flood Watch has been issued for Rhode Island Thursday Night through Sunday for the threat of minor river flooding

The story will be the same the next two days – steady, light rain overnight before a bit of a break during the daytime.

Rain through Friday morning will accumulate to around 1″, which could cause minor river flooding for the Pawtuxet and Wood rivers.

The break on Friday will continue into Saturday, but clouds will hang tough.

However, it is still the pick of the weekend as rain returns Sunday. The rain could change to snow overnight and there is some uncertainty in if we could see significant accumulations or not.

Either way, much colder air will enter the picture for next week – at least the sun will finally return by Tuesday.

HIGH TEMPERATURES:

Thursday & Friday – Low 50s

Saturday – Mid 40s

Sunday – Low 40s

Monday & Tuesday – Low 30s
