Warren barn fire caused by heat lamp used to warm chicks, says fire marshal

WARREN, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island State Fire Marshal said Tuesday a massive barn fire in Warren over the weekend was caused by a heat lamp.

Fire Marshal Timothy McLaughlin said the heat lamp was used to warm chicks.

The flames broke out Saturday night at the D&B Cattle/Great Oak Farm on Barton Avenue.

Most the animals, according to firefighters, were saved but some of them didn’t make it out.

No people were injured.
