WARREN, R.I. (WLNE) — The Warren Police Department said it is investigating a threatening letter left at Wharf Tavern that named two other restaurants.

Police said the letter was found in the mailbox of the restaurant, and also named Chomp Kitchen and Drinks as well as Blount Clam Shack and Market.

The letter threatened the tavern to “turn the music down” and concluded by saying “Oh, it’s coming, and you won’t like it.”

The department added that Wharf Tavern alerted the other two restaurants about the letter, and Chomp filed an alert.

Police said that no excessive noise complaints have been made against the tavern, but if they are made the department will “take a noise meter measurement in order to find whether or not the noise is excessive for that particular location and time.”
