Warwick firefighters and animal control free family of ducklings from storm drain
WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — A family of ducklings found themselves in less than ideal swimming conditions Wednesday.
The ducklings were found trapped in a storm drain after falling through the grate with their mother at the scene.
Warwick firefighters and animal control personnel combined to remove the grate and pull the ducklings to safety for a reunion with mom.
A Facebook post from Warwick Firefighters read in part:
We’re happy to report that mom and her little ones are doing just fine! Huge thanks to everyone who lent a hand. This might not be our usual kind of call—but we’ll never turn our backs on a family in trouble.
