Warwick man in critical condition after being hit by car

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — A Warwick man is in critical condition after being hit by a car while riding his bike last night.

The 58-year-old man was biking on West Shore Road and Yates Avenue.

Officers found him unresponsive around 9:30 p.m.

The driver, a 61-year-old woman, stayed on the scene.

First responders rushed the man to Kent Hospital where they resuscitated him, and transferred him to Rhode Island Hospital.

Police are currently investigating, but they said said speed and alcohol were not factors.
