Warwick Police arrest DUI suspect in their parking lot

By News Staff
Warwick Police arrested a man suspected of drunk driving right in the police station’s parking lot.
On Saturday, an officer was leaving the station to get paperwork from his patrol car in the back lot. In a Facebook post, Warwick Police say their rear lot is “full of marked police cars of all shapes and sizes”, and signs reading “DO NOT ENTER _ POLICE ONLY”.
The officer then noticed an unfamiliar vehicle driving around the lot and stopped the driver.
The driver, 41-year-old Richard Fisher, was taken into custody after blowing nearly five times the legal blood alcohol limit.
Police say Fisher said he was just trying to find Coburn Street.
