Warwick police looking for motorcyclist who drove recklessly through a funeral escort

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The Warwick Police Department is asking for help identifying a motorcyclist who was operating recklessly through a funeral escort on Friday.
Police said the driver of the motorcycle cut off and swerved in between multiple family cars that were part of a funeral escort for a veteran being laid to rest at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetary in Exeter.
The driver then intentionally drove at an officer leading the escort in an attempt to startle him and narrowly missed him before fleeing. Officers said they did not pursue the motorcycle for safety reasons, and that the motorcycle did not have a license plate.
Police said the motorcycle appeared to be a blue Yamaha R1 with white wall tires.
Police ask anyone who recognizes the motorcycle to call 401-468-4200 or email Nicholas.dinardo@warwickri.gov.
