WARWICK, RI (WLNE) – A reminder for residents in Warwick, you have to pay to go to the beach.
The Warwick Police Department, posting on their Facebook page Thursday night, reminding the public of the beach fees.
You have to pay to park at Oakland and Conimicut beaches, as well as Buttonwoods City Park.
We’re told the money is used to maintain the properties.
“Fantastic, as long as the money goes to beautifying the beach, the restrooms, that type of thing, we’re hoping it does, yes, to keep the restrooms open, and as you look around here it’s clean, they do a good job cleaning up,” William Hancock, a Rhode Island Resident, and season pass holder said.
Daily passes can be purchased at the gate, it’s $5.00 dollars for Warwick residents, $10.00 for non-residents, with discounts for veterans and disabled. The fees remain in place through Labor Day weekend.
