Warwick Police seek shoplifter armed with knife

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) – Police in Warwick are attempting to locate a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a local Walmart Monday evening.

According to Police an unknown suspect carried a widescreen television out of the Walmart located at 840 Post Road, with the security tags still attached around 6:05 p.m. Monday.

When a store employee followed the suspect into the parking lot to confront him, the suspect brandished a large kitchen knife and waved it towards the employee before fleeing in a gray Honda Element.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-30s, around 5’7” tall, wearing a white V-neck t-shirt and dark shorts, with a tattoo on his right bicep

According to police, Johnston, Seekonk, and North Attleboro have all reported similar incidents featuring a suspect matching the same description.
