WaterFire Providence announces new community gathering

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A new community gathering is coming to the Michael S. Van Leesten Memorial Pedestrian Bridge.
WaterFire Providence announced Starts at Sunset, which will be sponsored by the Providence Tourism Council and will take place on Sunday from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The rain date will be Monday.
“WaterFire is excited to be working with the Providence Tourism Council once again to bring back a special Starts at Sunset activation on the 29th anniversary of WaterFire’s first lighting in Providence,” said Managing Director and coCEO of WaterFire Providence, Peter A. Mello.
There will be performances by the Providence Drum Troupe and the Extraordinary Rendition band, as well a fireworks show at 8:30 p.m.
Local food and beer will be for sale from The Guild Beer Garden and Ming’s Asian Street Food.
