‘We got him’: Utah Governor Cox announces arrest in Charlie Kirk shooting death
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A suspect has been arrested in the death of conservative author and political activist Charlie Kirk two days after he was shot and killed at a college campus event in Utah.
According to ABC News, Tyler Robinson, 22, was arrested by authorities in connection with the investigation into Kirk’s death on Wednesday at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox announced the arrest of Robinson at a Friday press conference.
“We got him,” said Governor Cox at the press conference.
The announcement came shortly after an announcement from President Donald Trump on the investigation.
“I think, with a high degree of certainty, we have him in custody,” said Trump on “Fox and Friends” Friday morning.
